Chris White appointed as City of Victor Harbor CEO
The City of Victor Harbor is thrilled to announce the appointment of Chris White as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Mr White is an experienced local government leader and Fleurieu Peninsula resident who has served as Chief Executive Officer at the City of Prospect since 2021.
His appointment follows a rigorous recruitment process overseen by the CEO Selection Panel and Council, with support from executive recruitment specialist Morton Phillips. Council endorsed Mr White's appointment at a Special Council Meeting held on 7 August 2026.
Mr White holds a Bachelor of Economics, a Bachelor of Laws, a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and a Master of Urban Planning. He brings more than 20 years of local government experience, extensive strategic and operational leadership expertise, strong communication and negotiation skills, well-established professional networks and a collaborative leadership style.
City of Victor Harbor Mayor Moira Jenkins said Mr White's appointment would support Council's ongoing focus on strong leadership, sound governance and positive outcomes for the community.
"Chris is a highly respected local government professional with significant leadership experience, sound judgement and a clear understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing our City as it continues to grow," Mayor Jenkins said.
"His skills, experience and connection to the Fleurieu Peninsula position him well to lead the City of Victor Harbor through its next chapter. Council is confident he will provide strong leadership for the organisation and looks forward to working with him to continue delivering positive outcomes for our community."
Mr White said he was honoured to be appointed to the role and looked forward to working with Council Members, staff and the community.
"Over the past 6 years, my family and I have fallen in love with the Fleurieu Peninsula. This is such a wonderful community, and it’s fantastic to have an opportunity to contribute directly to the City of Victor Harbor, and the region more broadly," Mr White said.
"It’s apparent that both Council Members and staff of the City of Victor Harbor are laser focused on the betterment of this community. The community itself is engaged and passionate, which fills me with optimism for the future. I’m looking forward to joining the organisation and working with Council Members, staff and the community to build on the strong foundations already in place."

Mr White will commence at the City of Victor Harbor on 19 October 2026.
