Justice of the Peace
A Justice of the Peace (JP) acts as an independent and objective witness to documents people use for official or legal purposes. A JP may be able to assist with certifying a true copy of an original document, certifying a person's identity, witnessing an affidavit for use in court, witnessing a statutory declaration, or witnessing the signing of a document.
A JP is available at the Civic Centre (1 Bay Road, Victor Harbor) at the following times:
- Tuesday - 11am to 1pm
- Wednesday - 11am to 1pm*
- Thursday - 2pm to 4pm
- Friday - 2pm to 4pm
*Please note that a JP will not be available between 11am - 1pm on Wednesday, 7 February 2024 due to unavailability. Alternatively, a JP will be available between 2 - 4pm.
