Environmental Management Plan 2025–2030 Adopted
Council adopts new Environmental Management Plan for 2025–2030
At its meeting on Monday, Council officially endorsed the Environmental Management Plan 2025-2030 - a key strategic document that sets out how the City of Victor Harbor will manage and protect our local environment over the coming five years. This Plan replaces the previous 2019-2024 Plan and has been updated to align with our broader strategic framework under the Community Plan 2030 and Urban Growth Management Strategy 2050.
What’s new in 2025–2030
The updated plan responds to emerging local and global environmental challenges, incorporating community feedback and reflecting current priorities. Among its key directions are:
- Protecting and restoring natural landscapes, coastal areas, waterways, and native vegetation
- Enhancing biodiversity and ecosystem health across our region
- Promoting sustainable water use, waste reduction and improved waste management practices
- Expanding our urban tree canopy and green space to support healthier, greener neighbourhoods
- Building climate resilience and preparing for future climate impacts
A shared responsibility
Council recognises that preserving the environment is a shared responsibility - and we value the support, input and ongoing participation of our community. We look forward to working with residents, volunteers, local groups, and stakeholders to deliver on the commitments in this Plan.
