Long Term Financial Plan

The Long Term Financial Plan is the Council's primary financial management tool.

It is a key document within Council’s strategic management framework, linking together our Community Plan 2030, Asset Management Plans and the Annual Business Plan and Budget.

It is a legislative requirement for Council to develop and adopt a Long Term Financial Plan for a period of at least 10 years.

The LTFP looks at the next 10 years and sets targets for Council's budget to achieve in terms of future expenditure and debt levels, to ensure financial sustainability is maintained. It also sets out the major projects that Council intends to undertake over the next decade. The document provides at a strategic level, the anticipated revenue and expenditure over the next ten years based on a number of assumptions outlined in the Plan.
