Victor Harbor Integrated Transport Strategy

Have Your Say | We are seeking your feedback on a preliminary Vision for Victor Harbor’s Future Transport Network.

Community invited to help shape the future of transport in Victor Harbor

From school drop-offs and commuting to work, to moving freight, finding a park in town or navigating the summer holiday rush, transport is part of everyday life in Victor Harbor.

As one of South Australia's fastest-growing regional communities, Victor Harbor faces important decisions about how its transport network will meet future demand. Today’s choices will help determine how residents, businesses and visitors move around the region for decades to come, making long-term planning critical to maintaining connectivity, liveability and economic growth.

The City of Victor Harbor is preparing the Integrated Transport Strategy, a long-term vision for how our city can remain connected, accessible and easy to navigate as the region grows. The strategy will consider how roads, public transport, parking, freight movement, walking and cycling networks can work together to support the community.

We are inviting residents, schools, community groups, businesses and peak transport bodies to provide feedback on a preliminary vision for Victor Harbor’s transport network, including key elements of the town centre, freight bypass, public transport, and walking and cycling connections.

Once finalised, the Victor Harbor Integrated Transport Strategy will provide a clear framework for future transport planning and help strengthen Council's case when seeking State and Federal funding for major infrastructure projects.

Mayor Moira Jenkins said local knowledge would play an important role in shaping the final strategy.

"The decisions we make over the next decade will influence how people move around Victor Harbor for generations, so it's important we hear from the people who use the network every day.

“This strategy isn't just about roads. It's about how all parts of the transport network work together to support a connected community, a strong local economy and access to the services people rely on.

“We already know that transport is one of the top community concerns about Victor Harbor and the region. This consultation is an opportunity for our community to share their experiences and help inform future decisions about our transport network.

Whether you're running a business, transporting goods, travelling to school or work, your experience can help shape the discussion."

The Victor Harbor Integrated Transport Strategy aligns with Council's broader goal of managing growth responsibly while ensuring infrastructure keeps pace with community needs.  It also recognises the important role transport plays in supporting local businesses, tourism, accessibility and community wellbeing.
