Have Your Say: Draft Asset Management Plans and Long Term Financial Plan

Published 2nd April 2025
Council is inviting community feedback on its draft Asset Management Plans and Long Term Financial Plan 2025/26 to 2034/35.

These plans are essential components of Council’s strategic planning framework, ensuring sustainable financial and asset management for the future.

The draft Asset Management Plans outline how Council intends to maintain and manage key community assets cost-effectively while delivering agreed service levels. These plans detail financial and technical elements, including replacement cycles and funding requirements, covering three main areas:

  • Bridges, Stormwater, Kerb and Channel
  • Roads, Footpaths, Car Parks and Traffic Devices
  • Land, Buildings and Open Space.

The draft Long Term Financial Plan provides a 10-year financial outlook, setting targets for expenditure, debt levels, and financial sustainability. It also identifies major projects planned for the coming decade.

Community consultation on the draft plans will run from Monday, 31 March 2025, until 5pm on Wednesday, 23 April 2025.

Residents are encouraged to review the draft plans and provide their feedback. The documents are available online at www.yoursay.victor.sa.gov.au or in hard copy at the City of Victor Harbor Civic Centre (1 Bay Road, Victor Harbor).

“By having your say, you are helping to guide Council’s decisions on maintaining and enhancing our city’s infrastructure and services for years to come.”

Council’s Chief Executive Officer Victoria MacKirdy added that the consultation process provides an opportunity for residents to understand the financial and asset management challenges facing the city.

“These plans set the foundation for how we responsibly manage assets and finances to maintain sustainability while continuing to deliver essential services,” said Mrs MacKirdy.

“We encourage all community members to take the time to review the documents and provide their feedback.”
