Rocks of Kindness Spread Across Victor Harbor
The Create Together art group within Council’s Caring Neighbourhood Program has spent the past month creating meaningful rock art.
Their rock art will be displayed in the Victor Harbor Library foyer from 23 – 30 March 2026, plus a number of rocks have been dispersed throughout the community in Council parks and buildings.
If you happen to find a rock while out and about, feel free to take it and give it to someone who embodies community spirit or needs a neighbourly pick-me-up.
This special project has been conducted in conjunction with Neighbour Day. The average age of the artists involved in the Create Together art group is 82 years young.
Neighbour Day (29 March 2026)
Neighbour Day is Australia’s annual celebration of community connection. It’s a chance for everyone to connect with their community in their own way.
Research shows that community connections increase belonging, improve wellbeing and build stronger, more resilient communities. The theme for 2026 is Belonging Every Day – encouraging us all to make belonging part of daily life through small acts of connection, kindness and inclusion. Every connection counts. Whether it’s a smile, a conversation or a shared moment, these everyday actions help create communities where everyone feels they matter.
Join us in building belonging that lasts beyond one day and let’s make it something we live every day of the year!
Caring Neighbourhood Program
Council's Caring Neighbourhood Program is made up of a group of volunteers who extend friendship and support to people who are isolated from their community as a result of age related issues.
