Community Plan

The City of Victor Harbor has a number of plans it has developed and adopted to assist with the management of the council area. One of these plans is the Community Plan which sets out aspirations for the council area and what needs to be in place to achieve these aspirations. The Community Plan also plays an important role in influencing how Council will respond to both the challenges and opportunities of the future.

The Community Plan will directly inform Council’s Annual Business Plans, which will explain what Council will do each year to contribute to achieving the aspirations within its plan.

Developing the Community Plan 2030

Following Local Government elections, all councils are required to review their strategic management plans (Community Plan) within two years. The City of Victor Harbor commenced this process in August 2019.

The plan was developed in two stages. The first stage involved the development of broad strategic directions which included a set of aspirations for Victor Harbor's future and the strategies that need to be in place to help achieve them. Community consultation for stage one was undertaken during January and February 2020.

The next stage involved the development of a detailed plan which outlines how council intends to work towards achieving our shared aspirations for Victor Harbor. Community consultation was also taken during this stage from 13 June to 13 July 2020.

The City of Victor Harbor adopted its Community Plan 2030 at a Special Council Meeting on 3 August 2020.
