2024/25 Annual Budget Preparation Underway

The City of Victor Harbor’s 2024/25 budget preparations are in full swing with opportunities for community feedback coming in May 2024.

The City of Victor Harbor’s 2024/25 budget preparations are in full swing with the draft Annual Business Plan expected to be presented to the community for feedback in May 2024.

Over the past 18 months, Council has undertaken a range of engagement activities to understand community priorities for the future. What we have heard through this feedback and conversations with our community will influence the 2024/25 budget.

Some of the common messages are:

  • The Regional Community, Sport and Recreation Precinct is the community’s major project priority
  • Rate increases need to be minimised
  • Investment in improving roads, footpaths and stormwater should be prioritised
  • The environment is a significant contributer to the liveability of Victor Harbor and initiatives that support, enhance and conserve the environment are important
  • Arts and cultural activities contribute to the vibrancy of our community and are highly valued by our community
  • There is an opportunity for more activities for youth and teens, including spaces that facilitate intergenerational connections.

Each budget process brings with it the challenge of balancing competing priorities to deliver a suite of services and projects that provide broad community benefit and help us keep Victor Harbor a place of choice to live, work, invest and visit.

Community involvement in the next step is really important. In May, we will be calling on residents and ratepayers to provide their feedback on our draft Annual Business Plan and Budget.
