Commercial operators are utilised for local transport where possible.
The scheme is also a transport information resource for the region. Please contact the office to discuss what transport services are available for the region.

Volunteer drivers are used extensively in the provision of these services driving the latest model cars and buses. All drivers are subject to police clearance, driving assessments and medical checks as part of their application process.
SCOTS would like to sincerely thank our team of volunteers for their time, effort and kindness. The excellent and caring service they provide is very much appreciated. You can read more about Volunteering with the City of Victor Harbor.
The scheme, which is designed to assist those who are transport disadvantaged, could not survive without the generosity of the volunteer team, approximately forty five in all.
Volunteer roles include driving the Medi Ride cars, the door-to-door transport service to medical appointments, both locally and to Adelaide.
Volunteer drivers and attendants also operate the Community Shopping Bus. This service is also door-to-door and provides access from Goolwa, Middleton, Port Elliot, Hayborough and Encounter Bay to central Victor Harbor. The attendants assist with shopping parcels and also lend a hand to clients if necessary. Approximately 9,500 hours are provided annually to the transport scheme, which is a considerable contribution to the communities of the City of Victor Harbor and Alexandrina Council. Especially when bearing in mind that this is only one of the many Council programs where volunteers donate their time and effort, not to mention the Non-Council organisations.
For more information in regards to Medi Ride or the Community Shopping Bus please contact the Southern Communities Transport Scheme on 8551 0760, or call into their office at the Civic Centre, located on the corner of Bay Road and George Main Road.
Please note that our office hours are Monday - Friday 9am - 4pm. If calling outside of these hours, please leave a message with your name and number and we will get back to you the next business day.
