SA Youth Week events encourage young people to connect, try new things and have fun in a safe space.

The City of Victor Harbor, in partnership with Alexandrina Council, headspace Victor Harbor, Goolwa Community Centre, and the Department of Human Services, is thrilled to present the Fleurieu Block Party Series – a series of free, youth-focused events celebrating South Australia Youth Week (SAYW) across the Southern Fleurieu Peninsula.

Young people aged 12 to 19 are invited to participate in a dynamic program of activities designed to spark creativity, foster connections, and encourage self-expression in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Kicking off with an E-Sports Party on Friday, 11 April 2025 at Encounter Community Centre, attendees can compete in Nintendo Switch tournaments featuring fan-favourite games.

On Saturday, 12 April, Gamer’s Delight at Mount Compass Memorial Hall offers a diverse mix of activities, including an Escape Room, Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, spray painting, and theatre sports workshops.

The series concludes on 14 April 2025 with Who Am I? at Goolwa’s Centenary Hall, a creative exploration of self-expression through portrait photography, journal making, a dress-up Selfie Wall, and more.

These free events provide a safe and inclusive space for young people to connect, express themselves, and have fun.

“We are incredibly proud to support events like the Fleurieu Block Party Series, which provide young people with an opportunity to connect, create, and celebrate their individuality,” said City of Victor Harbor Mayor, Dr Moira Jenkins.

“SA Youth Week is an important time to recognise and empower the young members of our community.”

SA Youth Week, taking place from 9 – 17 April 2025, is South Australia’s largest annual celebration of young people. Funded by the Department of Human Services, SA Youth Week highlights the ideas, talents, and contributions of young people across the state through a variety of community-driven events and activities.

This year, the Fleurieu Block Party Series has been supported through a $2500 grant, ensuring an impactful and engaging program for local youth.
