It’s time to celebrate our local legends!

The City of Victor Harbor is welcoming nominations for the 2025 Citizen of the Year Awards.

With recipients formally recognised at Council’s Australia Day event in January 2025, the awards are an opportunity to celebrate those in our community who go above and beyond to make our region a remarkable place to live.

There are four different categories taking nominations:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year
  • Community Event of the Year
  • Award for Active Citizenship

Mayor Moira Jenkins said she encouraged the community to consider nominating individuals who make a significant impact in their own quiet way.

“Our community thrives on the service and contribution from our “unsung” heroes,” she said.

“Formally recognising the efforts of these community members sends a message of gratitude, acknowledgement and thanks.

“We are so fortunate to have a strong community spirit in Victor Harbor and our Citizen of the Year Awards are a great opportunity to celebrate the individuals and groups who reflect it.”

Nominations for all four categories close on November 15.
