Victor Harbor Court Resurfacing
The Victor Harbor multi-use courts have been reconstructed and resurfaced
A successful grant from the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing (Community Recreation and Sport Facilities Programs 2024–25), combined with co‑funding from the City of Victor Harbor, the Department for Education, and our local tennis and netball clubs, has enabled the resurfacing of the Victor Harbor multi‑use courts.
Works commenced in September 2025 and were completed in February 2026.
Background
- The court surfaces (last renewed in 2015) had reached end‑of‑life. Replacing them reduces safety risks and restores playing quality for clubs and schools.
- The facility is a high‑use community asset serving local tennis and netball as well as regular school sport, reliability and compliance are essential to participation.
Funding and partners
This project was funded by:
- Grant funding: Community Recreation & Sport Facilities Program (CRSFP) 2024‑25 via the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing (ORSR) totalling $468,700.
- Co‑funding contributions: City of Victor Harbor, Victor Harbor Tennis Club and Victor Harbor Netball Club totalling $156,328.
What was delivered
- Six courts reconstructed and resurfaced with multi‑sport line marking (tennis/netball)
- Works guided by geotechnical investigation and pavement recommendations to improve durability and performance
Timing
- Started late September 2025, to avoid competition clashes and school peak use and to align with the summer period when warmer temperatures are optimal for court surfacing.
- The works were completed in February 2026.
Engagement
Project timing and delivery approach were shaped through ongoing discussions with clubs, schools and the Victor Harbor Oval Planning Group. Engagement continued throughout construction to minimise disruption and manage handovers.
