The arrival of two expedition cruise ships has been confirmed for Victor Harbor. These visits will showcase Victor Harbor as a premier tourism destination for both domestic and international travellers.

On Wednesday, 18 December 2024, the luxury vessel Le Jacques Cartier from Ponant Cruises will anchor off Victor Harbor, bringing 184 passengers and 112 crew on a 14-day journey along Australia’s southern coastline, from Fremantle to Hobart. A second visit is scheduled for Monday, 3 February 2025, when the Coral Adventurer from Coral Expeditions arrives. This ship will carry 120 passengers and 48 crew on a 15-night voyage along Australia’s Great Southern Coastline, offering an intimate and immersive experience for travellers who chose to disembark.

City of Victor Harbor Mayor Moira Jenkins said she was thrilled that Victor Harbor was recognised as an attractive destination for the cruising tours.

“The arrival of the cruise ships is a strong signifier of just how attractive our coastal city is to both national and international visitors,” she said.

“I warmly welcome cruising visitors to our shores and know they will have a wonderful time experiencing what our town has to offer!”

These cruise visits represent an important milestone for tourism in Victor Harbor, boosting the town’s profile and providing a positive economic impact for local businesses. The arrival of these vessels follows the South Australian Tourism Commission’s (SATC) South Australian Cruise Ship Action Plan 2025, which focuses on promoting the state’s ports and anchorages as safe and appealing cruise destinations, enhancing visitor experiences, and fostering economic growth through cruise-related expenditure and regional tourism.

The City of Victor Harbor City Activation team is working closely with all involved in the cruises to support in visitor servicing queries and showcasing the region, as well as smooth and seamless operations during both visits, ensuring passengers have an exceptional experience.
