Bartel Boulevard Footpath

In September/October, the Bartel Boulevard footpath in Encounter Bay (from Bay Road to Ketch Place) was replaced. The remaining section of the footpath (from Ketch Place to Franklin Parade) will also be replaced in November/December.

Lamont Road Footpath

Work is soon to commence on the construction of a new footpath on Lamont Road in McCracken (from Cudmore Road to Wattle Drive). The concrete footpath will pass through Wattle Reserve. It's expected this project will be completed in early 2026.

Investigator College to Armstrong Road Footpath

Council is pleased to announce it has secured $200,000 in funding from the State Government’s Bicycle Fund for the construction of a new shared pathway linking Investigator College to Armstrong Road via the Encounter Bay Recreation Ground.

The 380-metre-long bitumen path, costing a total of $446,000, will provide pedestrians and cyclists with a safe, off-road connection to key education and recreational facilities. With design work commencing this month, the shared pathway is expected to be completed by June 2026.

The path will also connect to the future Regional Community, Sport and Recreation Precinct on Armstrong Road, supporting access to multi-purpose courts, a gymnastics area, a health club, meeting rooms, studio spaces, and other facilities.

Council thanks the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport for supporting this important project and is committed to delivering infrastructure that encourages safe, active, and connected communities.
