Footpath upgrades across Victor Harbor

Published 25th October 2023
Each year, Council determines a number of locations for footpath installation or upgrades. Here’s where we’re planning footpath improvement works for the coming months.

Footpaths help to keep pedestrians safe and improve accessibility in our local streets. In the coming months, Council will be working towards upgrading and installing several footpaths across our local area.

  • Encounter Waters, Encounter Bay (almost complete)
Approximately 250 metres of footpath has been replaced on the Matthew Flinders Drive side of Encounter Waters. The new asphalt surface has removed a number of trip hazards where the path had deteriorated over time.
  • Rapid Drive, McCracken (commencing next week)
A concrete footpath spanning approximately 370 metres will be constructed between Cudmore Road and Tom Thumb Street. This footpath is 100% grant funded under the Australian Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
  • Port Elliot Road, Hayborough
Approximately 140 metres of footpath will be installed on the northern side of Port Elliot Road, creating a safe pedestrian network between Mentone Road and Adelaide Road. This footpath is 100% grant funded under the Australian Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
  • Kleinig Drive, Hayborough
A concrete footpath connection is planned, stretching 100 metres from the recent stage of The Rise development to the existing footpath at Agnes Gillespie Drive.

Some disruption may occur while works are being undertaken, however Council will aim to minimise inconvenience where possible.
