Event Sponsorship

The City of Victor Harbor is committed to fostering a vibrant festival and event culture that delivers economic, social and promotional outcomes for its community.

Through the Festivals & Events Sponsorship program, the City of Victor Harbor seeks to foster a range of events that cultivates a vibrant community culture, expands the economy and enhances the visitor experience.

Applications are highly encouraged for events that:

  1. Increase visitation and overnight stays to Victor Harbor
  2. Are held in the off-peak season (April to September)
  3. Promote Victor Harbor as a premium coastal destination
  4. Offer a quality event experience for visitors and the local community
  5. Create collaborative opportunities with local groups and businesses
  6. Activate Council’s parks and reserves, or built facilities
  7. Employ environmentally sustainable practices
  8. Are financially sustainable

A total funding pool of $45,000 has been allocated in the 2023/24 budget to support the delivery of festivals and events in Victor Harbor through the program.

Round One applications opened 25 July 2023 and closed at 5pm on Friday 1 September 2023.

Round Two applications open on 25 January 2024 and close at 5pm on Friday 29 February 2024.

Applications for donations and/or fee waivers under $500 can be submitted to the Council throughout the year under the Donations Policy, with approval granted by the CEO or delegated Director.

Community groups may be eligible if:

  1. They are holding carnivals, tournaments, festivals or events within the Council area; and
  2. Where they have a strong potential of drawing competitors/attendees from outside of the area and will support the Victor Harbor economy; and
  3. Where they meet other criteria/evidence requirements as detailed within the Donations Procedure;
  4. To a maximum value of $500

Applications for funding are to be for a specific purpose and not be considered as a recurrent source of future funding.
