Mainstreet Digital Art Projection

Since 2016, Victor Harbor has been the proud home of South Australia's first regional permanent digital art projection.

Every evening after the sun goes down, vibrant digital art pieces are projected onto the façade of the art deco Victa Cinema in Victor Harbor's Mainstreet.

The architectural projection system provides a unique canvas for digital artists across the world to showcase their work, while also contributing to the City of Victor Harbor's aspiration to be a regional arts and cultural destination where artists can exhibit work, celebrate their passion and share their talents.

In addition to supporting a growing arts and cultural scene, the permanent digital art infrastructure supports the development of the City's night-time economy and acts as a tourism drawcard by attracting visitors into the town centre.

The projector was initially installed as part of Stage 1 of the Victor Harbor Mainstreet Precinct Upgrade, and is now maintained, monitored and regularly updated with new art by illuminart.

Every month, a new rotation of art clips are projected onto the Victa Cinema (37-41 Ocean Street, Victor Harbor). You can watch the clips between sunset and 9pm daily.
