Keeping healthy and well in the heat

Do you know how to stay healthy and well when hot weather is on the forecast?
There's some simple steps you can take to keep cool and well when the temperature rises:
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Stay cool with a fan or air conditioner
  • Avoid going outside in the hottest part of the day
  • Keep curtains, blinds and windows closed when the sun is out
  • Cool off with a shower or bath
  • Wear loose-fitting, light coloured clothing

If you're feeling well, it's important to check in with family, friends, elderly neighbours and other vulnerable people in the community. It is particularly important to keep an eye on those who may be at risk more than others, such as babies and young children, the elderly and our animals.
