Your bin collection schedule is changing from 1 July 2023

The Fleurieu Regional Waste Authority (FRWA) is implementing changes to its kerbside bin collection schedule.

In response to significant population growth and an increase in green organics collections, the Fleurieu Regional Waste Authority (FRWA) is implementing changes to its kerbside bin collection schedule.

These changes will ensure FRWA can continue to deliver the most efficient and effective regional waste services to residents on behalf of its member councils. The new collection schedule also simplifies collections across the Fleurieu Peninsula, with all residents having the same waste types collected on the same week.

What is changing?

  • First week of July: All households across the City of Victor Harbor, Alexandrina Council and District Council of Yankalilla will have their general waste (blue lid) bin collected on its own.
  • Even if you are due for a recycling collection, you will have your blue general waste bin collected on its own.

  • Second week of July: Recycling (yellow lid) bins and organics (green lid) bins will be collected in the second week of July.

All waste streams will continue to be collected on a fortnightly basis, except during the peak summer period when recycling and organics bins are collected weekly for six weeks.

Exceptional circumstances (red lid) bins that are annually approved for renewal from July will continue to be collected when the general waste (blue lid) bins are collected.

Your new kerbside collection calendars will arrive in the mail in June. The calendar will include a new map you to check your collection day. Please check the map as your collection day may have changed.
