Nominations are now open for four awards categories:

Citizen of the Year

To be eligible, the person must be an Australian Citizen.

Young Citizen of the Year

This is presented to a young person who is making a real difference in their community, potentially over multiple years.

To be eligible, the person must be an Australian Citizen aged over 16 years and under 30 years of age on 26 January 2024.

Community Event of the Year

This is presented to the person or group who has staged the most outstanding event for their community.

To be eligible, the person or group must be Australian Citizens.

Award for Active Citizenship

This is presented to a person or group delivering outstanding work on an event or project for the community during the past calendar year.

The person or group need not be Australian Citizens.

How to make a nomination

Submit your nominations for the 2024 Citizen of the Year Awards by completing an online application form or collecting a hardcopy form from the Civic Centre (1 Bay Road, Victor Harbor SA 5211).

Who judges the awards?

The 2024 Citizen of the Year Awards are judged by a panel comprising Council Members and community representatives.

If you are interested in being on the panel to judge these awards, send your expression of interest to localgov@victor.sa.gov.au

When will the winners be announced?

The winners of the 2024 Citizen of the Year Awards will be announced in January 2024.

An official awards ceremony will take place on Australia Day, 26 January 2024.
