About Schoolies Festival

The annual Schoolies Festival takes place in November each year, with the main event often held on Warland Reserve in Victor Harbor.

Schoolies Festival is managed by Encounter Youth, who also coordinate the Schoolies Operation Working Group who are focused on encouraging greater responsibility and safety among attendees.

The City of Victor Harbor works closely with Encounter Youth, the Schoolies Operation Working Group, SA Government departments and other organisations to ensure that Schoolies Festivals are a safe and fun environment for young people celebrating their end of secondary schooling.

Schoolies Operation is well supported by numerous emergency services organisations with positive guidance provided by Encounter Youth’s Green Team which comprises of some 400 volunteers.

Schoolies Festival 2023

This 2023 event is scheduled to occur on Warland Reserve and Soldiers Memorial Gardens from Friday 17 November until Sunday 19 November 2023.

For the past 24 years, Encounter Youth has led a coordinated Schoolies operation management response, with the support of many key stakeholders including SAPOL, MFS, CFS, South Coast Hospital, SA Ambulance, St Johns and Consumer and Business Affairs. Encounter Youth are continuing to plan the Schoolies Festival structured activities in consultation with these key stakeholders.
