Provisional Declaration – Mayoral Election

Moira Jenkins has been elected by the community to serve as the City of Victor Harbor’s Mayor for the next four years.

The Local Deputy Returning Officer made the provisional declaration for the City of Victor Harbor’s Mayoral Election on Saturday afternoon.

Moira Jenkins was elected after the distribution of preferences with 2,933 votes. Carolyn Jeffrey was close behind with 2,292 votes.

Unsuccessful candidates may request a recount within 72 hours of the provisional declaration by writing to the Returning Officer. The Returning Officer then decides if a recount is required. The returning officer can also initiate a recount within the same period.

Brayden Mann and Tim Glazbrook were the only candidates to reach quota in the councillor election. The count for the remaining councillor positions will continue on Monday, with successful candidates expected to be announced Monday afternoon.

Official results will be posted to the Electoral Commission of SA’s website at https://www.ecsa.sa.gov.au/elections/council-elections-home/results, and the Council will communicate the results with our community via our website and Facebook page as soon as it can.
