Detour Notice - Bay Road (Near the Civic Centre)

Over the past few weeks Council has been undertaking works to reconstruct the Inman River embankment (opposite the Civic Centre) that eroded during previous storm events.

As work has progressed, Council has realised the extent of the damage is far greater than first expected. As a result specialist machinery is required to safely complete the reconstruction. This machinery will require a section of Bay Road to be closed to traffic.

Please be aware that a detour (as shown on the map below) will be in place at the following times:

  • From 7.30am on Wednesday, 28 February 2018 until 5pm on Friday, 2 March 2018
  • From 7.30pm on Monday, 5 March 2018 until 5pm on Friday, 9 March 2018.

Bay Road will be open to traffic over the weekend of 3-4 March 2018.
