Septic Tanks and Waste Water Systems

The construction, installation or alteration of a septic tank system (waste water system) requires approval under the provisions of the SA Public Health (Wastewater) Regulations 2012.

No work in relation to the construction, installation or alteration of a waste water system can occur until the approval of the relevant authority has been granted.

The various types of waste water systems have specific application forms and require detailed information to be provided with a completed Waste Water Application form, click here for a listing of information required.

Onsite Waste Water Application

The relevant fees required for lodgement of your application can be obtained by contacting Council.

Certain waste water treatment systems require referral to the Department of Health eg. composting toilets, alternative onsite waste systems. For further information click here for a link to the Public Health website.
