Waitpinga Road Shoulder Widening

In 2023, the City of Victor Harbor undertook shoulder widening works on Waitpinga Road, between Battye Road and Mill Road. The aim of this project was to improve safety on a widely used arterial route.

A road shoulder refers to the strip of land immediately adjacent to the outer traffic lane. Wider road shoulders can significantly reduce the risk of run off road accidents.

Works that were completed as part of the project include:

  • Vegetation clearance
  • Profiling of road shoulder to expand width
  • Spray sealing of new shoulder

The Council engaged Neo Infrastructure to undertake this road upgrade.

Works commenced on Monday, 6 March 2023 and were completed in April.

This project was identified as a Key Planned Activity in the City of Victor Harbor's 2022/23 Annual Business Plan and Budget. It is fully funded by the Federal Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
