Causeway sand dunes

Work has commenced on Monday, 23 December 2019 to move drifted sand and reinstate the dune buffer at the Causeway.

Surrounding sand will be pushed from the low tide mark up to and around the Causeway, from the boat ramp at the northern side of the Causeway to just past the timber causeway.

Sand will be pushed up and deposited at the top of the beach, covering exposed concrete blocks and reinstating the dunes.

No vegetation, including seagrass meadows will be damaged through this process.

Approval to undertake this project was granted by the Coastal and Marine Branch, Department for Environment and Water and will take between two days to complete.
