20 July 2021 - Lockdown Update

The SA Government have advised that a State-wide lockdown will take place for seven days from 6pm on 20 July 2021.

Service Changes

The City of Victor Harbor will be implementing changes to services that are not essential. These changes will come into place from 6pm on Tuesday, 20 July 2021.

Council Office

The Council Office will be closed. Community inquiries can still be made by telephone (8551 0500) and email (localgov@victor.sa.gov.au) only.

Council Meetings

The Council meeting scheduled for Monday, 26 July 2021 will be held electronically via Zoom. Members of the public will be able to observe the meeting via the live stream which can be accessed via www.victor.sa.gov.au. The meeting will also be recorded and available via the website following the meeting.

Council Volunteer Programs

Volunteers will not be able to come into Council facilities or public areas. Volunteers within our community services area may be able to assist to make phone calls to vulnerable clients. Volunteer managers will be in touch with further information if this is required.

Community Transport

The Southern Communities’ Transport Scheme’s medi-ride service will continue to operate for essential medical appointments. Contact the SCOTS Team to arrange (08) 8551 0760.

Community Services

Non-essential community services will be temporarily suspended. Council will focus on supporting ‘high risk’ community members access essential supplies. If you know someone who requires this kind of support, please call Council on 8551 0500.

Field services from Depot and Rapid Response

A rapid response team will be operating during the closure. No other civil works will be undertaken.

Goolwa Waste and Recycling Depot and Fleurieu Regional Waste Authority

The Goolwa Waste and Recycling Depot  facilities will be closed to the general public.

Kerbside waste collection services will continue as normal.

Fleurieu Aquatic Centre

The Fleurieu Aquatic Centre is closed until further notice. For details visit www.fleurieuaquaticcentre.com.au

Coral Street Art Space

The Coral Street Art Space will be closed until further notice.

Library

The Victor Harbor Library will be closed until further notice.  Online services only are available.

No returns will be able to be made to the shute outside the library. Borrowings will be extended beyond the lockdown period.

Council Events and Hire of Council Facilities

All Council events scheduled during the lockdown period have been cancelled. Bookings for Council facilities have been temporarily suspended until further notice.

Visitor Services

Visitor Services will cease until further notice.

Redirection of resources

Where appropriate, Council staff delivering non-essential services will be re-deployed to assist support those most vulnerable in our community.

Council will have the capacity to assist ‘high risk’ community members’ access essential supplies. If you or someone you know requires this kind of support call Council on 8551 0500.
