Upgrading local footpaths

Published 6th February 2023
The City of Victor Harbor has commenced its Footpath Replacement Program, aiming to provide a better environment for pedestrians.

Footpaths help to keep pedestrians safe and improve accessibility in our local streets. Through its Asset Management Plans and Long Term Financial Plans, the Council determines what assets (including footpaths) require an upgrade.

This year, four locations have been determined as part of a priority network requiring footpath maintenance or footpath construction.

  • Harvey Avenue – completed
  • Ozone Street – commencing in February 2023
  • Swain Road – commencing in February 2023
  • Bay Road – commencing soon.

Some disruption may occur while works are being undertaken, however Council will aim to minimise inconvenience where possible.

The Footpath Replacement Program was identified as a Key Planned Activity in the Council’s 2022/23 Annual Business Plan. A total of $267,000 has been allocated to the project.
