2022 Council Elections: Get ready to cast your vote!

6th October 2022
Keep your eyes peeled on your mailbox over the next fortnight - your ballot packs are on their way!

All voting in Council Elections is conducted by post, which makes it easy and convenient for you to cast your vote.

Dispatch of ballot materials to electors for the 2022 Council Elections will take place between Friday, 14 October and Thursday, 20 October 2022.

Enrolled voters will receive a voting package in the mail and can return their completed ballot paper in the reply-paid envelope provided. Alternatively, ballot papers can be returned to the City of Victor Harbor Civic Centre at 1 Bay Road, Victor Harbor.

On the ballot paper, you must number at least as many boxes as there are vacancies in the election. If you don't, your vote won't count.

You must number them in order of preference, starting from 1 for the candidate who is the first choice.

Your ballot pack will explain how many spots are vacant and give directions on how to fill out the ballot. In fact, your ballot pack will contain all the information you need to make an informed vote, so don’t forget to check your mailbox over the next fortnight!

The City of Victor Harbor has three candidates standing for Mayor, and 19 candidates standing for nine Councillor positions.

Meet the Candidates

The City of Victor Harbor held a Meet the Candidates Forum on Wednesday, 5 October 2022 at the Victor Harbor Convention Centre. The forum was a chance for residents, ratepayers and businesses to hear from the candidates who have put their hand up to represent the local community on Council. A recording of the event is available below.

More information about each candidate will also be included in each voter’s ballot pack.
