COVID-19 Update - Changes to Council Services

The SA Government has announced restrictions will be eased from midnight Saturday. Find out what this means for Council services.

The new restrictions will come into place on 12.01am on Sunday 22 November 2020. A summary of the Police Commissioner’s new directions can be viewed here.

Update on Council Service Changes

The new restrictions will see a number of Council services resume, however some will remain closed. Please see information below:

Service / Facility

Description

Council Office

The Council Office will open as usual from Monday, 23 November 2020. Inquiries can be made by email to localgov@victor.sa.gov.au or 8551 0500. In person inquiries can be made from 9am Monday.

Council Meetings

The Council meeting scheduled for Monday, 23 November will now be held in person in the Council Chambers. The public gallery will be limited to 1 person per 4 square metres. Members of the public are encouraged to observe the meeting via the live stream which can be accessed via www.victor.sa.gov.au. The meeting will also be recorded and available via the website following the meeting.

Council Volunteer Programs

Volunteers will be able to assist with Council services, programs and initiatives where appropriate. Volunteer managers will be in touch with further information.

Field services from Depot and Rapid Response

Field services will re-commence as normal from Monday, 23 November 2020.

Goolwa Waste and Recycling Depot and Fleurieu Regional Waste Authority

The Goolwa Waste and Recycling Depot will be open as usual from Sunday, 22 November. Kerbside waste collection services will continue as normal.

Fleurieu Aquatic Centre

The Fleurieu Aquatic Centre will open from Monday with limited services. For further details please check www.fleurieuaquaticcentre.com.au

Coral Street Art Space

The Coral Street Art Space will re-open as normal from Monday, 23 November 2020.

Council Events

Council is reviewing our scheduled events to ensure they can be delivered safely in line with the new restrictions. Updates will be provided here and via www.encountervictorharbor.com.au

Library

The Victor Harbor Library will re-open to the public as normal from 9.30am on Monday, 23 November 2020.  Online services also remain available.

SA Whale Centre

The SA Whale Centre will open as normal from Monday, 23 November 2020.

Visitor Information Centre

Visitor Information Centre will open as normal from Monday, 23 November 2020.

  • Physical distancing
  • Practicing good hand hygiene
  • Staying home if we are unwell and getting tested
  • Respecting the restrictions that are in place.
