8 May 2020 - SA Government releases COVID safe road map

Over the past couple of months all South Australians have put in the hard yards to stop the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), and health authorities have indicated it is now safe to slowly start easing some restrictions

The Premier announced today that our road to recovery starts next week, and released a staged plan that will see us become COVID safe.

The first step of this plan involves a number of measures including encouraging regional travel, opening libraries and allowing outdoor dining for up to 10 people at restaurants and cafes (provided social distancing principles are applied).

The Council will be reaching out to support local restaurants and cafes prepare for the new requirements.

In terms of the City of Victor Harbor Library, the service will remain unchanged for the time being to allow us to put things in place to ensure the safety of our community and staff when we open our doors.

While today’s announcement is fantastic news as it means we are ahead of the game, it is so important that we all continue the social distancing practises that put us in this position.

More updates to come early  next week.
